FROM WOOL TO FABRIC

An interactive Weaving Workshop exposition based on weaving with a loom.

Vertical looms and traditional horizontal, mehanical or semi-automatic Viļumsons’, looms, are used by experienced weavers, including masters of folk arts.

Visitors are welcome to participate in the weaving process to find out how fabrics are made and learn some simple weaving techniques.

During the visit, you will learn about the fabric-making process from start to finish: choosing materials, colours and designs, warping the loom, weaving, removing the fabric from the loom and processing the fabric.

It is a chance to get to know weaving traditions and try your own hand at the loom to learn a weaving technique or two.
