PASTARIŅŠ AT HOME, SCHOOL AND IN LIFE
An interactive exposition dedicated to the life and creative work of Ernests Birznieks-Upītis (1871–1960) and the history of Pastariņš’ Museum.
In the video projector, which reacts to visitors’ hand movements, you will see photographs taken from 1871 up to 2017, which tell of the writer’s life and creative efforts, the Birznieki family, and the restoration of the Bisnieki farmstead.
The exposition includes objects once owned by the writer: a desk, inkpot, bookshelf, etc.
We invite you to play a game about the seasonal work at the Bisnieki farmstead in E. Birznieks-Upītis’ childhood. You will have a chance to read excerpts from the writer’s most popular works, sit at a 20th century school desk and hear the Tāmnieki dialect.
